AOL has yet again launched a new service for its AIM product line called AIM Phoneline (or AIM Digits). Like Skype, AIM Phoneline provides you with a local telephone number (where available) that rings to your AIM client. When the phone rings you can choose to answer it or send it to your voicemail. A premium service is also provided for $9.95 which gives unlimited access and the ability to call out.

The new wave of television content distribution over the Internet has been bolstered yet again by CBS adding some of their primetime shows to the iTunes Music Store ($1.99/episode). Like ABC, CBS provides their own content via their website, Innertube, but has still decided to allow Apple, Inc. to distribute and resell their content. Any move for these media empires to get the content more in the hands of the people to purchase and watch on their schedule will continue to help the consumer and ultimately the content provider.
